Wedding venues
Wedding ceremonies at the Chateau Melnik are held in luxurious historical premises. The most popular of them is the Great Hall with maps and vedutas (Velký sál s mapami a vedutami) with a unique collection of maps and vedutas. Should you prefer a more intimate setting the romantic Green Lounge (Zelený salon) will be the right choice.
The Chapel of St. Ludmila, built by Elisabeth of Pomerance, is available for church weddings. For outdoor and smaller weddings, the romantic setting of the chateau garden is available, for larger weddings the entire courtyard can be used.
If you look for something really special, there are two options: Private Terrace of Prince Lobkowicz (Soukromá terasa knížete Lobkowicze) with a view of the confluence of the Elbe and Vltava rivers, or the spectacular private park with the scenery of the rococo chateau Hořín (soukromý park se scenérií rokokového zámku Hořín) in the background. Those who prefer unconventional weddings will certainly enjoy the medieval atmosphere of the cellars of the Chateau Mělník founded by the emperor Charles IV himself.
A very popular part of any wedding is the tasting of the famous Lobkowicz wines in the cellars built by the emperor Charles IV. Wedding tastings are guided by an experienced cellar master, who will be happy to introduce you to the exquisite wines. Should you wish so, we can offer you cheese, sausage or chocolate variations to accompany the tasting.
